10 Year Anniversary trip Part 2

After exploring Boston and Salem, we checked out of our hotel and started to derive North. Our next destination- Kennebunkport Maine, home to the Bush family. On our way there- we stopped by to a small town called Wells. I love the charm of small towns and the friendly people. We had breakfast, dessert and did some window shopping.

We made it to Kennebunkport, checked into our hotel for a couple of nights and set out to explore the town. We met a great couple from New York and had dinner per their recommendation at one of their favorite restaurants. The East Coast food was delish- there is really no place better than Maine to get a Lobster Roll.

The next morning- we set out on a hike. The air was cool, but it was a perfect day to enjoy nature and spend time away from technology and just be with each other.

I have always had a fascination with cemeteries, especially the older ones. On our way West thru Maine traveling toward Lake Winnipesaukee, we found cemeteries on the side of the road. Many of these were old dating back to the 1800's. I like to think about these people who were once alive and the hardships they faced. It's amazing how much strength they had and the sadness that I am sure they had to endure when losing a child, or a spouse at such a young age. I like to think that they would appreciate someone visiting them, even I didn't know them personally. I can still pay my respects.

On our last day, we made it back to Boston and visited the temple. We had an amazing session and it was wonderful t be together in that sacred building remembering our sealing and remembering our love for each other over our 10 years of marriage. What a perfect trip!
