Birthday celebrations and a New Look

We had lots to celebrate post Valentine's Day. Daniel's 34th birthday was quickly approaching so the girls and I went to the five below store to pick out some gifts. Arizona wanted to get him some sort of clothing so she searched for the perfect t-shirt. Mr. Rogers won- it was the rainbow that sealed the deal. We also found these awesome foam swords that the girls and Daniel like to fight with. It's also really funny to hear Adeline yell, "Ha!" when she tries to stab one of her sisters. Daniel and I celebrated Valentine's and his birthday with a dinner out to Maggiano's. It's one of our favorite spots to eat Italian and a coupon doesn't hurt either. Happy Birthday my main squeeze!

The girls were also invited to a friend's birthday party where they watched a princess puppet show.

We have had some major changes in the last week with new furniture. Our old brown couch is no longer ours and we are happy that another family was able to use it and at the right time too. So, off Daniel and I went to Nebraska Furniture Mart- which by the way- if you are ever in the Dallas Area- go there. It is a gigantic furniture store with everything you can think of. Give yourself plenty of time because the store is huge and there is so much to look at.
Daniel and I had gone with all three girls and that was a disaster, but we pinpointed two that we liked. Well, fast forward to a week later and going with two less girls (a good friend of ours watched them for us.)- we looked at the two couches again and decided we did not like them at all! We were back to the drawing board. As we were walking to the clearance section, we saw one that caught our attention. I loved it right away as is, but Daniel is more logistics- does it fit, how will it work for our family lifestyle, for when friends and family come to stay.  We had a pretty good discussion back and forth. I must say, we make a good team. So we decided on this couch but with a different layout, and   it looks amazing!! We could not be happier and the girls love it too. We added a new bookcase to showcase some of our book collection and decor too.

I've wanted the tv mounted to the wall for quite some time. I think it looks more finished and put together. We do have a couple of other things to buy such a new entertainment center (ours is 7 years old), a console table behind the couch, and I would love sconces above our Proclamation to the World and Living Christ frames. I am happy with the way it's all turning out and it's starting to feel extra cozy now.

So that little lady is our new family member addition. Surprise surprise, because never have we ever wanted to have a pet. Here's the backstory to our kitty cat. About 6 months after we moved in, I noticed a cat was coming into our yard to drink water from the kids water table outside. She looked awful, with fur gone around her neck and was very timid of us. I thought maybe this kitty had gotten lost and asked around but no one claimed her. Slowly, I started to put food out for her and she was coming around more. Eventually, she started to live in our garage and would let us pet her and not be frightened when we walked outside. Then, Daniel started to let her in because it was getting colder outside. This all lasted a good year until I started to get the feeling that we needed to make her an indoor pet. The girls really loved her and we just needed to make a decision. Once I came back from my trip to Chicago, I took her to vet to get checked out and it turns out she is already spayed and is declawed. What on Earth? So, she must have belonged to someone before, but no one was out looking for her, at least  not to my knowledge. So, she got her shots, and a flea treatment, and she is officially ours. The girls have really grown to love her and she is so gentle with them as all. Adeline is the roughest of the girls with her, but this kitty cat just takes it. And her name....Mange. Mangy Mange.
